OverviewWhat are Learning Clubs?Learning Clubs provide a safe, fun, supportive learning environment where students participate in educational activities or receive help with their schoolwork from dedicated tutors, outside of school hours.Becoming a volunteer tutor gives you the chance to support young people experiencing poverty with their educational and personal development, to keep up in class, and ultimately to succeed at school.QualificationsExcellent interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to communicate well with young peopleA friendly and positive attitudeThe ability to work independently as well as part of a teamResponsibilitiesAssist students in completing homework tasksAssist students in developing skills and knowledge in particular subject areas through structured activitiesModel and encourage appropriate behavioural standards and build positive relationships with studentsClub set up and pack down (e.g. tables, chairs, resources, fruit)Liaise with the Club Coordinator on students'' support needs and progressTime commitmentGenerally, we seek a volunteer commitment of 1-2 hours (once per week) for a minimum of two school terms (around 18 weeks).
