Position Overview Position Title: Director of Learning and Curriculum (Secondary) Employment Basis: Permanent Anticipated Start Date: Negotiable Pay Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications The Role This is a strategic, senior leadership role responsible for leading curriculum, pedagogy and assessment across Years 712. As a member of the Secondary Executive Team, the Director provides wholesecondary school leadership, guides instructional excellence, and ensures coherence, innovation and high-quality practice in every faculty. This position is suited to an experienced senior education leader who is already shaping teaching and learning at a whole-school or multifaculty level , and is ready to contribute to a thriving and futurefocused educational community. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation and renewal of the College''s Pedagogical Model and Teaching & Learning Framework. Oversee curriculum design, documentation and alignment with ACARA and QCAA requirements. Lead assessment design quality, reporting structures, and all QCAA endorsement, confirmation and integrity processes. Drive data-informed improvement routines that translate into enhanced learning progress and instructional practice. Build leadership capability across Heads of Department, supporting them as instructional leaders. Lead digital learning and guide responsible, curriculum-aligned AI-enabled practice. Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Secondary Executive Team. Maintain a teaching load (0.10.2 FTE), ensuring ongoing engagement with classroom practice and student learning. The Successful Applicant The successful applicant will demonstrate: Substantial experience in a senior curriculum or teaching & learning leadership role (e.g. Director/Dean/Head of Teaching & Learning, Assistant Principal Learning & Teaching, Deputy Principal Curriculum, or equivalent). Proven capacity to lead curriculum, pedagogy and assessment across multiple faculties or a full secondary subschool. Deep knowledge of evidencebased teaching, curriculum design and QCAA processes (endorsement, confirmation, assessment integrity). Demonstrated ability to lead professional learning, build instructional capability, and influence teaching practice at scale. Strong strategic, analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to shape culture, foster alignment and drive improvement. Capacity to lead innovation in digital learning and emerging AIenabled practices. A genuine commitment to the Christian ethos and values of St Andrews Lutheran College.
