Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description About the Company Ocean Partners Pty Ltd (Ocean Partners) operates within Australian Commonwealth and state fisheries to sustainably harvest and supply fish to both local and international markets. These fisheries extend from Lancelin in Western Australia roughly to the Southernmost tip of Tasmania. Our fish are harvested to the most rigorous sustainability standards adhering to the regulatory framework of Commonwealth and State fisheries which are overseen by the Australian Fisheries Management Authority and the WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development respectively. Our operations will benefit the local community through creating employment (mainly in regional areas), investment in licensing, processing, legal services, financial services, logistics and other ancillary services. We will also reduce the reliance on imported bait by supplying to recreational and sport fishermen, crab and lobster fishermen and the tuna farming industry in Port Lincoln. Position Description We are seeking a dedicated Chief Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the following; Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of main propulsion, auxiliary generators, and high-pressure hydraulic trawl systems; Manage pelagic vessel power distribution, refrigeration plants, and automated processing lines to ensure operational continuity; and Enforce safe work practices and ensure all engineering operations comply with MARPOL regulations to prevent pollution. About You This position requires niche technical and operational expertise in the operation of mid-ocean pelagic trawling vessels. These vessels employ sophisticated and ultra-modern navigational, technology, mapping, and fish-targeting systems to harvest mid-water column species with minimal interruption to the surrounding marine environment.
