People from the remotest, most beautiful part of the desert, then used this money to develop their own organisation, with a culture of caring, compassion and determination.At the time, the focus was to get family members home to Kintore on dialysis, for people to be looked after on country and to maintain the traditions of looking after country and passing on cultural heritage to future generations.It took a little timeand a lot of hard workbut in 2004, Purple House started dialysis in Kintore, the first of its kind, and set a precedence for many others to follow.Today we are proud to say we have helped many communities to get their people home and now operate Dialysis in 20 (and growing) remote communities across NT, SA and WA. We also run two mobile dialysis trucks, provide a range of support services including Aged Care, NDIS, Primary Health and Social Support, run a successful bush medicine social enterprise and always working on new innovations.We have come a long way in two decades and are excited about the next chapter!About the RolePurple House has strengthened its commitment to research and evaluation through the establishment of the Purple House Research Committee and the launch of our annual Social Impact Report. We are seeking a Senior Research Officer to help lead this important work and strengthen the evidence base behind our unique model of care.This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed-term 12-month contract based in Alice Springs, Darwin, or Perth.The Senior Research Officer plays a central role in coordinating and supporting research and evaluation activities across Purple House. This position will co-lead the development of a Research Priority Framework, support the Research Committee, and build strong partnerships with researchers, universities, and funding bodies.
