Overview Add expected salary to your profile for insights About the client Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper-Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the area. Hillside is in a fantastic location 150km from Adelaide and is one of the largest undeveloped copper / gold projects in Australia. Stage 1 of the project is fully approved, and early-stage site access work has commenced. Further site work and awarding of contracts and building the team to execute the project is currently taking place. The project will be an open pit mining operation and will be operated under a contract mining model with oversight from an experienced owners team. The scene is therefore set and Hillside will be one of the next greenfield mining projects in Australia to get off the ground. The opportunity The Principal Mining Engineer will play a key leadership role in overseeing the development and planning of mining operations during its construction and operational phases. This role will be responsible for guiding the mines transition from exploration to initial development, preparing for future operations and supporting operational requirements. Key Skill Sets 10+ years experience in mining engineering environments with experience in a leadership or strategic role, preferably in open pit mining. Experience working in a greenfield or early-stage mining project, including mine planning, resource extraction and equipment management. Proven experience in mine design, feasibility studies, project management, and regulatory compliance Strong technical proficiency in mining software Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of mine design, permitting processes, safety, environmental considerations, and the management of resources in a rapidly evolving environment Whats on offer Opportunity to be involved in the early stages as the mine is constructed over the next 2 years and then move into operations.
