OverviewWe are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sous Chef to assist the head chef in managing our kitchen team. This is an above-award salaried position with varying shifts over seven days, depending on the needs of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role, being responsible for all kitchen processes and management. ResponsibilitiesControlling and directing the food preparation and any other relative activities.Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting and marinating food.Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff.Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen.Creating new dishes and planning menus.Ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation.Plan orders of equipment and ingredients according to identified shortages.Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience as a Chef.Highly developed communication and leadership skills.Proven ability of kitchen management.Up to date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.Credentials in health and safety training.
