This is a hands-on physical role specialising in both garden landscaping as well as daily maintenance.The successful candidate for this role will have a passion for public gardens and spaces and will have extensive knowledge of horticulture to provide advice and guidance to the council on all aspects of the garden life cycle, including planning, planting, and pruning.You will also work with the Parks and Reserves team to ensure all aspects of garden maintenance are undertaken, including trimming and shaping plants, planting, mulching, fertilising, plant and soil health checks, mowing, and basic irrigation.About youTo be successful in this role, you will be reliable, self-motivated, be able to manage your time and work priorities, and be proactive and show initiative.You must have exceptional attention to detail and driven to achieve a high standard of presentation.For your application to be considered:Must have 1 or more years of professional gardening experiencePhysically fit to undertake sustained daily outdoor activityExtensive knowledge of Tasmanian conditions and requirementsMust have a current Australian drivers licenceMust have a Tasmanian Working With Vulnerable People clearance, or be able to obtainOur Culture and BenefitsWe offer a positive and high-performing team to support and assist you in the role.
