Located in the Environment, Heritage and Resilience Department, the Waste and Resource Recovery Branch is responsible for planning, operating and improving waste and resource recovery services around the city. The Waste and Resource Recovery Infrastructure Planning team is responsible for new and improved infrastructure, ensuring the Citys waste network is fitforpurpose and environmentally and financially sustainable. About the role An opportunity exists within the Waste and Resource Recovery Infrastructure Planning team to lead a team of asset managers and infrastructure planners through the next two years of delivering a valueformoney waste network. This role is part of the leadership team and will work closely with members of our operational, delivery and central service areas to ensure projects delivered. This is a fixedterm opportunity to 30 June 2028 . Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of infrastructure engineers, planners and asset management officers to maintain, renew and improve our waste network. Act as a subject matter expert for Council in infrastructure planning and prepare, review and present technical information to various stakeholders. Provide strategic and tactical leadership to manage work priorities and undertake monitoring of workflows to deliver technically accurate and timely outcomes. Drive high safety and wellbeing awareness and a culture of customerfocused solutions. Proven ability to negotiate and resolve strategic matters of importance, through a thorough knowledge and understanding of federal and state government legislation that is relevant to waste infrastructure and site operation approvals. Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that operational and design requirements are considered at all points of design and assessment. Engage with other members of the branch management team and senior officers to achieve the branchs business outcomes in an integrated and costeffective manner.
