The organisation has a clear mandate to modernise its fraud capability and is seeking a leader with the credibility and experience to build a contemporary, intelligence-led fraud function with strong executive support. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer and forming part of the Risk Group Leadership Team, the Head of Fraud will lead theenterprise-wide transformation of fraud capability. The role offers strong executive visibility, direct engagement with senior leadership and the opportunity to shape how fraud risk is managed across the organisation. This position will suit a leader who has previously built or significantly transformed a fraud capability and who is motivated by the opportunity to move an organisation from a reactive investigations model to a proactive, intelligence-led fraud environment. The Opportunity This is a genuine greenfields mandate combining strategy, leadership and operational impact. You will play a central role in modernising the organisations fraud capability and embedding a proactive, data-enabled approach to fraud prevention. Key responsibilities Designing and implementing a modern, intelligence-led fraud operating model Leading enterprise-wide fraud prevention, detection and investigation strategy Driving increased fraud awareness and cultural maturity across the organisation Providing authoritative advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Board Overseeing complex and sensitive fraud investigations and regulatory referrals Strengthening relationships with regulators, law enforcement and industry bodies The mandate is clear: move from a reactive model to a proactive, intelligence-led fraud capability. What Success Looks Like A clearly articulated fraud strategy aligned with organisational priorities Enhanced detection capability through intelligence-led approaches Strong internal engagement and frontline fraud awareness A respected and high-performing fraud team Board-ready reporting that provides strategic insight into fraud risk About You You are an experienced fraud leader who has successfully built or transformed fraud capability within complex and regulated environments. You bring: Extensive senior experience leading fraud, investigations, integrity or financial crime functions Demonstrated success transforming fraud capability within insurance, superannuation, government or regulatory environments Experience briefing executives, boards and regulators on complex matters Strong strategic capability with the ability to translate policy and frameworks into operational outcomes Advanced investigative judgement across data, systems and intelligence sources Experience leading specialist teams through organisational change Tertiary qualifications in law, accounting, criminology, investigations or a related discipline will be highly regarded. Experience within statutory insurance, general insurance or superannuation environments will be highly regarded, although we would also be interested in speaking with candidates from government or regulatory fraud investigation backgrounds.
