Head of Business Development - Renewable Energy Projects Location: Brisbane, QLD About the role We are seeking a high growth freight forwarding leader to identify and win Renewable Energy project opportunities. The Head of Business Development will drive the end to end growth strategy for renewable energy initiatives, including solar and wind farm projects across land and sea. This is a high impact, P&L leadership role responsible for shaping the pipeline, building strategic partnerships, negotiating contracts, and securing wins that accelerate the clients expansion into renewable energy logistics and related services. What youll do Develop and execute the go to market strategy for renewable energy projects (onshore and offshore), including solar, wind, and related logistics contracts. Identify, evaluate, and close new business opportunities with developers, EPCs, operators, utilities, and financial sponsors. Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, forecasting, and milestone-based success metrics. Lead complex deal structuring, pricing, and negotiation to win multi-year contracts. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, commercial, legal, and finance to ensure feasible and profitable engagements. Establish strategic partnerships and alliances to broaden capabilities in renewable energy logistics (land and offshore). Monitor market dynamics, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategy. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings; build the brand as a trusted, credible partner for renewable energy projects. Who you are Proven track record in business development and deal making within the renewable energy sector (solar and/or wind) and/or logistics/ Freight Forwarding for large scale energy projects. Demonstrated success in winning significant contracts, with experience across land and offshore (offshore wind/solar project logistics a plus). Strong network within renewable energy developers, EPCs, utilities, banks/investors, and project developers. Excellent negotiation, strategic thinking, and leadership skills; capable of leading cross-functional teams. Deep understanding of project lifecycle, bid processes, contracting and risk assessment Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguity-rich environment with a global reach. Bachelors degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., MBA, CEMS, PMI) a plus. Willingness to travel as needed. Qualifications 7+ years in business development/sales within renewable energy, logistics, or freight forwarding sectors. Demonstrated ability to close multi million and multi year contracts. Experience with offshore logistics, port operations, and related regulatory considerations is a plus.
