Overview On behalf of the City of Perth, Lester Blades Executive Search & Board Advisory is delighted to invite applications for the position of Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO). Opportunity to Shape the Future of the Citys Workforce This is a senior leadership opportunity to provide stewardship of the Citys people and culture agenda at an enterprise level. As CPCO, you will lead the People and Culture portfolio and play a critical role in guiding workforce strategy, leadership capability and people practices across a large and diverse local government organisation. Working as a senior member of the Corporate Services leadership team, you will be a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, supporting informed decision-making across the employment lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic, risk-informed advice to the Executive Leadership Team on workforce strategy, people governance, industrial relations and organisational capability. Lead the development and delivery of a whole-of-organisation People and Culture strategy aligned to the Citys strategic objectives. Support organisational capability through workforce planning, organisational development and leadership uplift. Oversee the delivery of professional, compliant and customer-focused People & Culture services, including people partnering, payroll, WHS, workforce development and HR operations. Ensure strong governance, legislative compliance and sound risk management across people systems, processes and practices. Lead and develop the People & Culture leadership team, fostering professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement. About You To succeed in this role, you will bring: Extensive senior experience leading People & Culture or HR functions within complex organisations. Demonstrated capability across workforce strategy, organisational development, industrial relations, governance and risk. The ability to influence at executive level with credibility, sound judgement and a practical approach. A leadership style that balances strategic thinking with operational delivery. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Development or a related discipline.
