Provide high-level strategic clinical advice to the LHD Board, Executive, senior managers, and clinicians. Collaborate with LHD managers and clinicians to develop, implement and evaluate patient safety and quality programs, providing expert advice on clinical policy, guidance, and incident management. Coach and mentor clinicians and teams to improve clinical services, including quality improvement (site visits and virtual support). Actively participate in the LHD Clinical Council to support priority directions for improving cancer institute performance and patient outcomes. Contribute to service development and workforce planning initiatives, collaborating with medical leaders and managers across SNSWLHD and other LHDs, including ACT Health. Lead strategic coordination of medical education, training and research; develop processes and resources (including virtual technology) to enrol patients into clinical trials and establish relationships with tertiary clinical trials units. Provide evidence-based, patient-focused oncology services to solid tumour patients primarily at Bega Hospital, with occasional outreach services to other locations in the district. Selection Criteria Current registration as a Medical Specialist with AHPRA. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with subspecialty training and experience in medical oncology. Experience in clinical leadership and management, with demonstrated ability to lead and support local clinical teams. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive, high-quality, compassionate oncology services and patient care. Proven ability to improve service delivery, initiate change, and consult on change, managing potential conflicts. Strong interpersonal, communication, consultation, and negotiation skills for building collaborative relationships. Commitment to clinical research, including experience in clinical trials. Valid, unrestricted drivers licence and willingness to drive and travel as required, including overnight stays. Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination This is a Category A position.
