LETS EXPLORE THE ROLE As Head of Corporate Development, you will lead BAIs inorganic growth strategy, owning the full M&A lifecyclefrom market scanning and opportunity identification through to due diligence, deal execution and postacquisition support. Reporting to the CFO, you will operate as a trusted commercial advisor to the Executive and Board, bringing analytical depth, strategic judgement, and transaction expertise to major investment decisions. Youll shape BAIs growth agenda by developing a robust pipeline of acquisition targets, evaluating opportunities, and ensuring deals are executed with discipline and rigour. This senior individual contributor role offers high visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to influence BAIs longterm strategic direction. Over time, as activity grows, the remit includes the potential to build a team. Key Responsibilities Conduct structured market scanning to identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets. Build and manage a qualified M&A pipeline aligned with strategic priorities. Develop investment theses, strategic rationales, business cases and valuations. Prepare Board and Executive materials outlining commercial rationale, risks, and financial outcomes. Lead all due diligence workstreams across commercial, financial, legal, tax, and operational domains. Coordinate internal and external advisors including bankers, consultants, and legal partners. Model scenarios including deal structures, synergies, valuations, and returns. Manage transaction documentation, approval processes, regulatory considerations, and stakeholder engagement. Support postacquisition integration planning, Day1 readiness, synergy realisation and postinvestment review. LETS HEAR ABOUT YOU Youre a seasoned commercial leader with deep M&A experience and the ability to influence Csuite and Board stakeholders. You combine analytical capability, transaction execution experience, and commercial judgement with the interpersonal skills needed to engage founders, advisors, and internal decisionmakers. Technical Skills Required Advanced financial modelling and valuation (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions, LBOs). M&A deal structuring including earnouts, escrows, consideration mix, W&I frameworks. Advanced due diligence leadership across all workstreams. Business case development including risk assessment, strategic rationale and returns analysis. Working knowledge of transaction documentation, SPA mechanics, and TSA requirements. Postacquisition integration planning including first100days execution. Advanced experience preparing Boardlevel papers and investment memoranda. Market analysis, sector mapping and competitive intelligence. Knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks (FIRB, ACCC, SOCI). Proficiency with Excel, data rooms and dealmanagement platforms. You will also bring 10+ years experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity or similar fields. Demonstrated track record leading or contributing to complex transactions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline.
