As an Institution of the Uniting Church, they work collaboratively with other Uniting Church congregations, community organisation and government bodies to provide accessible and flexible services to older people, those living with a disability or mental illness, and vulnerable children and families. Wesley Mission Queensland is looking for a new board member to join the board for an initial term of three years. This is a remunerated board position and to complement the existing board members, we are seeking specific skills and experience in: Aged care/community service experience Strong experience with Finance, Audit and Risk Committees Importantly, you will be an experienced nonexecutive director with an alignment with the Uniting Church mission and ethos and the values of WMQ: integrity, respect, empowerment, hope, justice, compassion and innovation. Professional qualifications relevant to corporate governance responsibilities and practices (GAICD or equivalent), in the context of the design and delivery of community services are essential. With a clear understanding of the strategic and functional role of the board, it is envisaged you will bring a contemporary approach to leadership and governance and have demonstrated knowledge of the applicable legal, ethical and fiduciary responsibilities required.
