The Role As the Head of Architecture, you will be a strategic leader, responsible for defining and driving the enterprise architecture strategy for Auto & General. You will lead the architecture function to create a technology vision and roadmap that enables our business strategy, ensuring our technology landscape is scalable, secure, and fit for the future. Your New Team You will be responsible for building and leading a highperforming architecture team, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and strategic thinking. This team is a key part of our Technology Enterprise Services department, dedicated to driving innovation and ensuring architectural alignment across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Develop, communicate, and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy and technology roadmaps, ensuring clear alignment with business goals. Lead the evaluation, selection, and adoption of emerging technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns. Lead by example, fostering a positive team culture and providing mentoring and coaching to Architecture Managers and Principal Architects. Chair the Architecture Forum to govern and approve solution designs and patterns, ensuring they adhere to established standards. Engage with senior stakeholders to understand business drivers and align the architecture strategy accordingly. Act as a key Technology SME, translating complex architectural concepts into clear business implications. Qualifications & Experience A minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior Management role within a technology architecture or strategy function, with proven people leadership responsibility. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience. Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise architecture strategies, technology roadmaps, and governance frameworks. Extensive knowledge of Cloud Native architectures, preferably AWS, including microservices, serverless, and eventdriven patterns. Exceptional influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation. Significant Insurance or Financial Services industry experience is highly preferred. Understanding of Agile techniques including Lean and Scrum. Our Perks Location Toowong.
