Job Overview The General Manager at ESMBA Engineering plays a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership and oversight across all aspects of the business operations. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the General Manager is responsible for driving organizational growth, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Reporting directly to the director, you will manage our supply chains with a focus on best practices, continually seeking opportunities for improvement. Provide hands-on support to internal teams, as well as local, interstate, and international suppliers across various industries. Lead the ongoing development and enhancement of our existing quality control processes. Ensure the timely delivery of complete structural steel fabrication solutions to meet client demands. Efficiently manage and coordinate all manufacturing activities, ensuring the timely production of high-quality structural steel products in accordance with demand and company standards. Develop and monitor production schedules, optimizing workflow and resource utilization to consistently meet production targets. Lead recruitment and hiring processes, attracting, and selecting top talent to meet organizational needs. Oversee employee onboarding and training programs, ensuring new hires are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for their roles. Lead budgeting and financial planning processes, forecasting revenue and expenses to support strategic objectives. This role is integral to our mission of delivering customer satisfaction by ensuring the production of high-quality structural steel products that align with client expectations. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years recent experience in a similar role within the Structural Steel Fabrication business, working with Tier 2Tier 3 construction builders. Possess trade or tertiary qualifications in Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, or relevant industry experience. Demonstrate experience in product development, manufacturing, sourcing, steel fabrication, adhesives, assembly fixtures and processes, planning and logistics, quality control, plumbing, electrical, and compliance. Exhibit the ability to monitor, influence, and maintain communications with offshore manufacturing facilities. Collaborative team player with the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments. Proficiency in reading, understanding, and explaining engineering drawings. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, MRP, ERP systems.
