Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Write press releases, news stories, articles, case studies and product piecesCommunicate press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online, to interest them in our clients'' stories and newsRespond to phone calls and emails from journalistsArrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients'' spokespeople in person or over the phone and facilitate these meetings where appropriateMonitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clientsAttend client events and industry conferencesWork with clients on content and execution of their social media profiles to enhance and amplify their content and newsGenerate and deliver analytics reports on media coverage for clients and competitors, social media impact, website traffic, engagement and other quantitative impacts of communications activitiesBrainstorm and develop cut-through ideas for communications campaigns and executionWrite newsworthy opinion pieces/by liners for technology publications and meet client deadlinesExcellent written communication skills essentialLeadership, Teamwork and Personal SkillsMust be a confident communicator and presenterMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust possess excellent organizational and planning skillsHave a full understanding of media needs and media relationshipsBe proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with attention to detailPossess the ability to keep information confidentialTactical understanding of all primary social media platformsAbility to work in time sensitive environments and under deadline pressureA wide degree of creativity and latitudeSelf-motivated with a positive and professional approach to managementStrong teamwork skillsDesirable: understanding of the Australian technology landscape (e.g., cloud, service provider markets, networking infrastructure, IT security)EducationBachelor''s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Commerce, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or Communications.Past ExperiencePast experience in technology, journalism, sales, internal/external communications/digital or marketing highly desirable.
