About The Role As HSEQ Advisor & Training Officer, you will lead the development, implementation, and management of HSEQ programs across Supagas SA/NT/TAS Region Branches. Youll ensure all staff new and existing receive consistent, compliant, and timely training, while maintaining compliance with licensing and legislative requirements and supporting ISO 9001 accreditation. You will mentor branch teams in continual improvement using the PlanDoCheckAct (PDCA) framework and oversee HSEQ Management Systems across all sites. Specifically, you will: Develop, implement and maintain the HSEQ / IMS policies, procedures and safety management systems to ensure compliance with legislation, standards and certification (e.g. ISO, internal audits, licence requirements). Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and manage corrective actions following incidents, near misses or unsafe conditions. Support incident investigations, report findings and ensure lessons learned and corrective measures are implemented. Deliver and oversee safety training, inductions and awareness programs (toolbox talks, LMS, external qualifications) to ensure all staff and contractors are competent. Provide expert advice to managers and staff on HSEQ matters, acting as a safetyculture champion and driver of a proactive, safety-first environment. Coordinate audits, certification activities, safety committees and maintain accurate HSEQ documentation across branches/sites. Maintain and update training content, track competency profiles, conduct learning needs analyses, and develop tailored learning solutions to address performance gaps. Train and assess staff in vehicle and equipment use, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards. About You Tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent safetyrelated qualification. Cert IV - Training and Assessment qualification or equivalent. Forklift license and/or HR license are highly regarded. Minimum 5 years proven experience in a HSEQ / WHS advisory role ideally within highrisk, industrial, construction or heavyindustry environment. Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and ISOcertified management systems (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 9001), including audit and compliance experience. Proven experience delivering training and learning to operational teams, with the ability to deliver quality differentiated training experiences. Proficient in using database/documentmanagement software for reporting, recordkeeping and delivering computerbased training. Robust analytical, problemsolving and decisionmaking ability, with a resultsoriented approach and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and foster a positive safety culture promoting behavioralbased safety, continuous improvement, and compliance across multiple sites or teams. Selfmotivated, organised and able to manage competing priorities capable of working independently when required, ensuring safety systems, audits, reporting and corrective actions are maintained and uptodate.
