ac.care is seeking a Financial Counsellor to work collaboratively as a team member within the Financial Inclusion Team and organisation, to deliver financial counselling services to people who are experiencing financial difficulties.The Financial Counsellor will participate in appropriate community education programs raising awareness of financial issues, including the provision of information and resources.The role will deliver high quality advice, and practical assistance with the aim of meeting positive outcomes for clients, supporting them to (re)gain control over their finances through access to specialised services to deal with problems arising from debt.As part of this you will:Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of program activities.Identify and contribute to program/service delivery performance outcomes.Assess a clients financial situation, identifying the financial issues and provide information/options to address the clients needs and the implications of these to the clients financial situation.Provide comprehensive financial counselling assessment that includes a case plan with goals towards meeting positive outcomes for the client.Evaluation and self reflection of own service delivery.$38.65 per hourFull Time (1.0 FTE)Five (5) weeks annual leaveEmployee Assistance ProgramSalary packaging benefits and12% employer contribution to superannuation.Special Conditions:Current SA drivers licence Class C or interstate equivalent.Current Satisfactory Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.Child Safe Environment Certificate or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:Tertiary or formal qualifications Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or Diploma of Financial Counselling and be eligible for South Australia Financial Counselling Association (SAFCA).Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge in counselling, case management, case noting, assessment and referral e.g. financial counselling, budget counselling or experience in emergency relief or anti-poverty services.Demonstrated experience in identifying client needs, selecting the best solution to address those needs and following up to ensure client resolution.Demonstrated experience in working with and being sensitive to the needs of others, in a welcoming and non-judgmental environment, acting with diplomacy, tact, empathy, privacy and confidentiality e.g. vulnerable communities, low income earners, cultural groups and/or people socially isolated and or economically disadvantaged.High developed communication skills (listening, verbal and written), including the ability to establish rapport and maintain a positive relationship with clients and other service providers.Demonstrated knowledge of Legal and consumer issues as it relates to financial counselling.Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and privacy, including the principles of sharing financial information.Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically Diverse (CALD) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.ac.care is a dynamic organisation servicing the South Australian communities the Limestone Coast, Murraylands, Riverland, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.Our mission is for all country people to have a safe home, enough money to live on and strong, positive relationships.Please find our service locations here or use our contact form to request a service.Mount GambierHead office and Foster CareBerri Community CentreServicing the RiverlandMurraylands CentreServicing the Murraylands, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula29 Bridge Street, Murray Bridge, SA 5253 #J-18808-Ljbffr
