The Commercial and Procurement Branch is the governments lead advisor on commercial strategies, specialist procurement, and strategic contracting. In partnership with Departments, the Branch leads the assessment and management of commercial projects, uplifts capability across government, implements and manages modern systems, oversees and supports major projects, and leads strategic procurement. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement contracts and processes from planning to establishment Develop procurement documentation and conduct market analysis Provide practical advice on procurement policies and best practice Build effective relationships with stakeholders Deliver project outcomes as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Provide expert advice on complex procurement and contracting strategies Lead high-impact projects and mentor less experienced staff Analyse and resolve intricate procurement issues Develop innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement Influence senior stakeholders and negotiate with suppliers In-depth knowledge of government procurement frameworks ASO8 Procurement Projects & Advisory Lead Lead a team of procurement professionals and drive capability development Oversee complex, high-value procurement projects and policy implementation Deliver high-level strategic advice and support reform initiatives Build and maintain strong relationships with agency leaders and external partners Ensure compliance, risk management, and governance in all procurement activities Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the sector About You We are looking for procurement officers with varied levels of experience who are collaborative, highly organised, and eager to contribute to a high-performing team. You will have the ability to work independently under limited direction, a sound understanding of the SA Government procurement framework, and demonstrated experience in leading procurement activities and developing key documents.
