Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation Hobart TAS Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) CoordinatorFull Time | Permanent | State-wide TasmaniaClassification: Level 78 (Enterprise Agreement) The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) is seeking an experienced WHS Coordinator to lead our organisations Work Health and Safety systems and ensure compliance with the WHS Act 2012 (Tas). This role provides specialist advice, oversight and coordination of WHS governance across all TAC programs and sites. About the role The WHS Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining TACs WHS Management System, risk management processes, audits, incident reporting, emergency management preparation, and psychosocial hazard management. This position works closely with HR, Quality and Corporate Services and provides reporting and recommendations to senior management and the TAC Board. Key responsibilities Develop and implement WHS policies, procedures and safe systems of work Lead WHS risk assessments, investigations, audits and inspections Maintain WHS governance documents, risk registers and statutory records Coordinate WHS Committee processes and HSR engagement Deliver or coordinate WHS training and induction content Support compliance with psychosocial hazard management requirements Analyse WHS trends and provide regular reports to senior management About you Certificate IV or higher in Work Health & Safety Demonstrated experience in WHS coordination or advisory roles Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and risk management Experience conducting investigations and supporting WHS audits Excellent communication, consultation and report-writing skills Strong digital capability (Microsoft 365) and organisational skills The ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams Desirable: Experience in Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and knowledge of Tasmanian Aboriginal culture.
