The opportunity Were seeking a Diversity and Child Safe Lead to provide specialist leadership in embedding diversity, equity, inclusion and child safety across Council. This influential role shapes frameworks, policies and capability that support a safe, respectful and equitable workplace and community, while ensuring strong governance and compliance with Victorian child safety and gender equality obligations. What youll be doing Lead Councils diversity, equity and inclusion frameworks, including the Gender Equity Plan. Drive child safety governance, compliance and continuous improvement aligned to the Victorian Child Safe Standards. Provide expert advice on policy, incidents, assurance, reporting and compliance matters. Build organisational capability through training, guidance and stakeholder engagement. Partner with executives, leaders and key regulators to support assurance, transparency and public accountability. What you''ll need to succeed Proven experience in diversity, equity and inclusion and/or child safe practice in a regulated environment. Strong knowledge of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Gender Equality Act 2020. Ability to translate complex legislation into practical policies and organisationwide initiatives. Highly developed communication and influencing skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) and eligibility to meet preemployment and child safe checks.
