About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join our Business and Private Client Advisory division, which supports a range of small, medium and large private businesses and family groups, along with nonforprofit and foreignowned businesses. We offer a wide range of services including accounting & tax compliance, business & tax advisory, structuring, superannuation, wealth management and transactional services. You will be an integral member of our highperforming team specialising in the property sector. Led by three partners and supported by a team of ten, you will be responsible for managing a range of small to medium clients, ensuring exceptional client service and the delivery of highquality work. You will also be responsible for delegating and reviewing work undertaken by junior team members. Key responsibilities Develop, manage and administer a portfolio of SWs clients, including: Develop budgets, manage WIPs and bill clients Meet deadlines and provide quality and timely service to clients Maintain a high level of customer service to all clients Perform all compliance and valueadd work Review financial accounts, FBT and income tax returns, business activity statements, instalment activity statements and any other work performed by junior team members Prepare and review complex individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns Prepare and review workpapers, analyse client data and transactions and set up accounts Provide feedback, coaching and technical support to any BPCA team member working on clients Offer technical support and guidance to an allocated team of intermediates and graduates Identify and develop existing and potential business opportunities within client base Report to the manager on the performance of team members and status of client obligations and issues Assist with potential and new client opportunities or initiatives such as attending client meetings, preparing advice and presentations Ensure administrative compliance for all assigned clients Undertake additional duties as required, such as interviewing clients, participating in training or marketing activities, acting as a buddy/mentor, and contributing to special projects Key skills and experience A minimum of 2 years experience working in a Business Services environment in a chartered/CPA accounting practice and have some exposure to tax issues Degree qualified and nearly/fully qualified as a CA/CPA Technically proficient and up to date with developments in tax law and accounting standards, systems and processes Advanced working knowledge of GST, Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements Detailed knowledge of tax office correspondence procedures Thorough understanding of company secretarial matters Advanced understanding of the Corporations Act, accounting standards, tax legislation Ability to review the work of junior members of staff and identify any issues and opportunities for discussion Previous experience working with and developing good relationships with clients Excellent timemanagement skills and meeting deadlines for a large group of clients Ability to mentor, coach, motivate and manage junior members of staff Present professionally and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills Prior experience working with APS, Business Fitness, Xero, MYOB and Dext is highly regarded Best kept secrets of SW Progressive firm, with excellent career opportunities Flexible working environment 2 additional AL days per year 18 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers and 3 weeks for nonprimary Refer to client and refer a friend bonus scheme Employee Assistance Program and wellness perks $1000 towards home office setup Social Club Tailored Learning and Development Program Paid course/study leave 1 paid professional membership per year Weekly lunch provided Apply today Create your own individual story and become a part of ours.
