Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital In this position you will provide acute medical services within the Emergency Department. This includes liaising closely with accredited Medical Specialists, responding immediately to CodeBlue calls, and assisting with the assessment, review, and management of medically unstable patients, including both inpatients and those presenting for acute admission. The Position Direct patient care in the Emergency Department Record keeping, including appropriate certificates and discharge planning Liaison with specialist and other medical practitioners Patient billing Available to review any patient on the Ballarat campus whose condition causes concern, and/or nursing staff unable to consult the medical specialist or MET team doctor Available when on call to attend the Emergency Department within 30 minutes of notification Works with a variety of medical, nursing and allied health practitioners in a multidisciplinary care environment Promotes and facilitates ethical medical practice to all patients Ensures behaviour and presentation as a medical practitioner maintains and enhances the professional standing of SJGHC Ballarat in the community Undertakes all reasonable duties and rosters as allocated by the Director of Emergency or the Director of Clinical Teaching and relevant physicians Participates in afterhours and weekend rosters Qualifications General registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) A fellowship in either FACEM, FACRRM or FRACGP, or equivalent Experience managing high acuity patients independently with substantial clinical experience Commitment to placing people at the core of everything you do and supporting our Mission and Values What we can offer you A competitive salary and benefits $292,998.78 to 376,712.71 for Career Medical Officers per annum, plus 12% superannuation $376,712.71 to 470,901.10 for Emergency Specialists per annum, plus 12% superannuation Fulltime / Parttime roles available Salary packaging up to $18,550 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses as well as options to salary package benefits above the FBT cap on items such as: Novated leasing Work related expenses Selfeducation and additional superannuation A healthy worklife balance through flexible work options, additional purchased leave & wellbeing programs Dynamic multidisciplinary team Employee discount on StJohn of God Hospital & Medical Services and Private Health Insurance Employee support through our dedicated free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 5 weeks annual leave 10 days study prorata if parttime 10 weeks Paid Parental Leave (VIC) Purchase up to 2 weeks of additional annual leave Applications will be reviewed throughout the advertising period and interviews conducted regularly so apply today!
