Kaurna Plains School | Leader Band B-1 - Coordinator (SAASTA) $129,841 per annum FTE / Teacher Conditions Kaurna Plains School is located in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide, caters predominantly for Aboriginal and Torrens Straight Islander (ATSI) students R-12 and is a Category 1 on the DfE Index of Educational Disadvantage. The site is co-located with the Kaurna Plains Childcare Centre, Kaurna Plains Preschool and Kaurna Children Parent Centre, which provides a wide range of services for families. The school has over 170 students including a high percentage of ATSI students and children in care. Majority of students are EALD, have challenges with their learning and are on school card. There is a genuine collaborative partnership between school and community. The school reinforces and maintains knowledge and understandings about Aboriginality in order to develop in students a sense of identity, pride, confidence and esteem as Aboriginal people. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Leader Band B-1 - Coordinator (SAASTA) to join our dedicated team! What you will do: Participate in the schools leadership team, overseeing behaviour education support systems, wellbeing initiatives, Aboriginal Education and inclusive education practices Effective leadership of SAASTA at Kaurna Plains School, including promotion, student recruitment, and management of personnel, finances, and resources Build strong connections between Kaurna Plains, families, and the community Increase student engagement through supporting development of appropriate curriculum, and staff cultural awareness and practice. What you will bring: Demonstrated high level skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, students, parents, support services and the wider community in a diverse range of settings including low socio-economic communities and the broader Aboriginal community Proven ability to lead teaching and learning programs and deliver a culturally responsive curriculum that promotes Aboriginal students achievement, engagement, and wellbeing across senior secondary programs Full teachers'' registration with the TRB Why choose us?
