CAPTURE LEAD AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE INDUSTRY | Adelaide, SA | Initial 6-Month Contract ABOUT BIORG BiORG is an Adelaide-based professional services firm specialising in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Integrated Product Support (IPS), Maintenance, and Asset Management across the Australian Defence sector. We deliver high-value consulting and managed maintenance solutions to Defence primes, system integrators, and SMEs operating across the national Defence enterprise. ABOUT THE ROLE BiORG is seeking a commercially driven and well-networked Capture Lead to own and accelerate our business growth across the Defence Industry. This is a senior role for a self-starter who takes genuine end-to-end ownership of the capture process from identifying opportunities and finding the right consulting talent, through to hiring the best people and matching their capability to client need. You will be supported by the broader BiORG team, but you will be the driver of the full commercial process and need to be comfortable operating that way. You will also shape and execute BiORG''s growth strategy, build the BiORG brand through partnerships and industry recognition, drive our marketing presence, and represent the business at key industry forums and events. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Business Development & Capture Identify, qualify, and pursue consulting and workforce engagement opportunities with Government, Defence primes and SMEs Take end-to-end ownership of the capture lifecycle opportunity identification, pipeline development, bid strategy, proposal preparation, and engagement delivery Build and manage a high-quality opportunity pipeline aligned to BiORG''s growth targets and KPIs Develop and manage relationships with key commercial and programme stakeholders across the Defence industry Identify, attract, and hire specialist Defence consultants across ILS, IPS, maintenance, asset management and engineering Match consultant capability to client requirements, ensuring the right people are in the right roles Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline of Defence professionals to support BiORG''s growing portfolio of engagements Drive BiORG''s business growth strategy setting targets, tracking performance, and identifying new market opportunities Build BiORG''s brand and market profile through strategic industry partnerships, teaming arrangements, and membership of relevant industry bodies Identify and pursue industry award nominations and recognition opportunities to strengthen BiORG''s standing in the Defence sector Lead BiORG''s marketing strategy including capability statements, digital presence, and industry positioning Represent BiORG at industry events and forums including DTC, AIDN, and government-industry engagements Report regularly to the CEO on pipeline health, conversion rates, and strategic initiatives WHAT WE''RE LOOKING FOR Proven business development experience in the Australian Defence Industry gained on the commercial side, within a prime contractor, integrator, or Defence consultancy Adelaide-based (or firmly committed to relocating to Adelaide) A self-starter with the drive and capability to own the full capture process end-to-end from first contact through to hiring talent and delivering successful engagements Established network across Australian Defence primes, CASG, and/or Defence industry SMEs Demonstrated ability to work to KPIs and meet or exceed growth targets Strong communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills Australian citizen eligible to hold a security clearance Current NV1 security clearance (or suitability to be sponsored for one) Deep knowledge of Defence procurement frameworks including ASDEFCON and CASG acquisition processes Experience with ILS, IPS, maintenance, or asset management engagements within Defence Experience building brand presence through industry partnerships, award nominations, or similar initiatives Experience representing a business at industry forums such as Land Forces, Avalon, Indo Pacific, or AIDN events CONTRACT DETAILS This is an initial six-month contract with strong expectation of extension or transition to a longer-term arrangement for the right candidate. Remuneration will be negotiated commensurate with experience.
