Nicholas Vega Memorial Scholarship (Howell High School) This scholarship was created in loving memory of Nicholas Paul Vega. One (1) $250 scholarship is awarded to a Howell High School senior who has gone above and beyond in volunteering to help people in their community. Selfless acts such as volunteering for foundations that help people with life threatening diseases; participating in fundraising events; and assisting in things that make a big difference in helping people through difficult times will be considered. All the little things that we can do and take for granted mean a lot to those who cant (due to a severe illness or disability). The recipients of this award will have their names engraved on a memorial plaque that is displayed in Howell High School in Nicks honor. Applicant Criteria Volunteer efforts must have occurred while attending Howell High School (senior year is required; junior and sophomore years are also accepted). Efforts cannot be associated with mandatory volunteer programs. The students volunteer actions should be described in detail, including name of organization and dates of service. Please include references and their contact information. Reference letters are also accepted. Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on the benefits and outcome of their volunteer service. #J-18808-Ljbffr
