About the 2026 Talent Community - Station Staff, Western Line This Expression of Interest (EOI) is for Western Line Station Staff roles, including Station Assistants and Services Officers. Please note that we do not recruit Conductors externally. We may begin screening and reviewing CVs as applications are received. If you progress through the initial screening stage, we will keep your application on file for the remainder of the year. Roles may be Full Time or Part Time and may be Permanent or Fixed Term. All Station Staff positions require availability for a 24/7 rotating roster. You may nominate preferred stations; however, please be aware that you may be required to work at any station along the Western Line, which may be up to 80 km from your home depot. About The Role As a member of our Station Staff team, you are integral to the success of V/Lines Customer Group. Our Services Officers are the first point of contact for our passengers. These handson roles will see you selling Mykis, making announcements, coordinating coach activities and deescalating situations as they arise while making sure that all V/Line passengers are provided with fantastic customer service. You''ll need to stay on the lookout for any risks or hazards around the station, ensuring that the station is neatly presented and well maintained at all times (including cleaning toilets and washing windows). Our Station Assistants assist with the overall presentation and cleaning of the station, overseeing the safe operation of the coach interchange, providing passenger assistance, handling lost property, and conducting regular inspections to ensure station standards are maintained. The position may also involve helping passengers with luggage, which can include the use of a motorised device. Keep in mind that you will need to work at 24/7 rotating roster and depending on scheduling and business needs, you may be required to sign on and work at various stations along the West line within 80km of your home depot. Services Officer key accountabilities include: Assist with ticketing, fare checking, and luggage handlingEnsure trains are ready for service, from cleanliness to functionalityWork through service disruptions and emergency situations with calm professionalismManage and report any equipment or facility issues About You A true customer service professional, you are punctual, reliable, energetic and your communication skills are second to none.
