As a Catchment Ranger, you will play a key role in protecting our precious water sources and safeguarding drinking water for communities across the Southwest. This permanent fulltime role offers independence, time outdoors, and the fulfilment of meaningful, purposedriven work. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and surveillance of dams and surface water catchments. This includes operating outlet structures, conducting inspections, maintaining public recreation facilities, and responding to incidents in accordance with safety and operational procedures. Your work will also involve routine and rostered afterhours patrols, enforcing bylaws, and monitoring land use to ensure water quality is protected. You will liaise closely with partner agencies such as DBCA, Police, DWER, Shires, and Fisheries to support joint patrols, environmental investigations, and emergency contingencies. The role includes conducting water quality sampling, maintaining accurate records and reports, and undertaking vegetation and weed management, as well as maintaining gates, fences, and other site infrastructure. You will also support operational and logistical activities across the site as required. If you value purpose, teamwork, and independence, you will thrive in this role.
