Job Description

Overview The Urgent Care APP (NP or PA) is responsible for the provision of health care services to individuals, families, and/or groups who receive their care under the auspices of Sentara Medical Group (SMG). Health care services include conducting health assessments, prescribing/providing treatments and interventions, performing occupational medicine regulatory exams, and performing procedures in a walkin Urgent Care center. Services are provided under the direction and supervision of the assigned physician(s) in a collaborative agreement. The APP is expected to participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, engage as a member of team activities, and use human and material resources appropriately. Location Elizabeth City, NC Work Shift First (Days) Provider Specialty Urgent Care Schedule Flexibility Requires flexibility in schedule to include weekends, evenings, holidays, and 12hour shifts. Must be able to move between regional Urgent Care locations at the direction of administration. Must work independently, under direct or indirect supervision, with astute situational awareness and the ability to move quickly without compromising quality or customer service. Professional Requirements Continues education credits as required by licensing body and SMG; maintains prescriptive authority. Acquires special clinical competencies as required by the group. Participates in quality assurance and utilization management activities, and assists with risk management functions. National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) is not required at the time of offer, but expected to complete within 30 days of employment. Prescription Authority VA staff only. Must be DOT certified before starting (reimbursed). Education Masters Level Degree (Required) NP or PA Certification / Licensure NP/PA State License (Required) DEA (Required) DOT Department of Transportation (Required) BLS (Required) ACLS Experience Minimum of 12 years of experience as a practicing provider in an urgent or emergency care setting.
