Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Gastroenterology Clinical Trials Co-Ordinator to join the Northern Health Department of Gastroenterology. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbournes rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. About the Role This role provides the opportunity for a passionate, experienced person to lead clinical trial oversight, patient recruitment, budget negotiations, financial tracking and maintenance of regulatory, ethics and governance requirements. A Gastroenterology Clinical Trials Coordinator plays a vital role in conducting and managing clinical trials related to gastrointestinal diseases and treatments. This specialized position combines clinical expertise with research skills to ensure the successful execution of studies while prioritizing patient care and safety. To be successful in this role you will have Clinical Trial Expertise: Utilizing their specialized knowledge in clinical trials and relevant ethics and governance processes, specimen collection, and administration of investigational drugs. Quality Assurance: Ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and participating in quality improvement activities. Education and Training: Providing education to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals about gastroenterology research and treatments. Collaboration: Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. This role requires a combination of strong clinical skills, research knowledge, and the ability to balance the demands of rigorous scientific inquiry with compassionate patient care. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups. Knowledge of EMR use and relevant IT computer applications. Working knowledge of ICH GCP, NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans, TGA notification scheme and international regulatory bodies (FDA and EMA).
