Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to take on the role of Executive Director, Industrial Relations. The Industrial Relations directorate is a critical area within OIR, designing and delivering Queenslands industrial relations system. The directorate administers 13 pieces of legislation and plays a pivotal role in enabling the delivery of effective regulatory functions and services in the areas of Public Sector, Policy and Legislation, Labour Hire Licensing Compliance Unit, and Regulation and Compliance. The Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) has a vision to ensure Queensland workers, industry and communities are healthy, safe, fair and productive. Our purpose is to deliver contemporary regulatory and other government services to Queenslanders and to achieve this, we focus on three priorities: Industry, community and partnerships Regulatory standards Our people Reporting to the Deputy Director-General OIR, you will embed a strong and resilient performance culture, provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams and ensure cohesion and commitment to the overarching strategic goals of the organisation. About You We are looking for someone who leads with influence and has significant experience in leading multidisciplinary teams with a focus on high quality service delivery. You will thrive in dynamic environments and be able to manage your time effectively across a diverse and complex portfolio of work. You will have extensive experience in providing strategic high level advice through analysis and assessment of trends and emerging issues relating to industrial relations legislation, policy and service delivery performance. Your decisions will be timely, well considered and demonstrate good governance, judgment and risk management. Your ability to work positively with people by fostering strong, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount.
