About The Role The BETRS Clinical Lead is a key leadership role within a specialist eating disorder service, supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver highquality, evidencebased care. Working closely with the Program Manager and Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership, guide bestpractice treatment, and support clinicians to achieve meaningful outcomes for consumers within the program. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician with expertise in eating disorders to step into a senior clinical leadership role while remaining actively involved in clinical care. The role also provides the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the BETRS program and support bestpractice eating disorder treatment within a specialist mental health service. Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and oversight across assessments, key worker sessions, Day Program modules and individual therapies. Monitor consumer progress and ensure treatment aligns with evidencebased eating disorder treatment guidelines. Support clinicians through clinical supervision, mentorship and disciplinespecific guidance. Liaise with the Austin Eating Disorders Unit regarding intake and coordination of consumers requiring admission. Monitor program activity and team performance to support achievement of activitybased funding targets. Deliver education and training in evidencebased eating disorder treatments to staff and stakeholders. Support effective collaboration across services and ensuring continuity of care for consumers transitioning between services. Assist with monthly staff supervision to ensure teamwork within activitybased funding requirements. Provide biweekly updates to team members regarding activitybased funding targets. Participate in all aspects of work including assessments, work ups for day program, key worker sessions, Day Program modules. Track and evaluate team and individual performance targets. Follow safe procedures, including documenting RiskMan incidents, conducting audits, educating staff on new policies, and performing safety inspections. Lead the team in absence of the Manager. Deliver training sessions on evidencebased treatments for eating disorders. Facilitate effective communication for consumer transfers between St Vincents Mental Health and The Austin Eating Disorders Unit (EDU). Collaborate with clinical leaders to review cases of eating disorder consumers in medical wards. Provide targeted supervision and mentorship to staff and students within the discipline. Embrace and implement a recoveryoriented approach that emphasizes consumer strengths. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to development of related policies and procedures. Foster collaboration between St Vincents medical ward and the Eating Disorders Unit (EDU). Perform all other tasks within the scope of practice of the incumbent and be available for redeployment within SVHM. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated experience leading teams and supporting staff to achieve program outcomes. Significant clinical experience working within eating disorder programs. Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Mental Health Nursing with current registration (where applicable) and eligibility for professional membership. Extensive postgraduate mental health experience (typically 7+ years for OT/SW and 5+ years for RPN). Strong leadership, supervision and mentoring skills. Highly developed interpersonal, communication and problemsolving skills. Experience in program development, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives. A commitment to recoveryoriented practice and ongoing professional development. A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain, and a current drivers licence. Completion of under graduate degree in Occupational Therapy or Masters of Clinical Practice in Occupational Therapy. Social Workers: approved degree in Social Work (by the AASW) and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. RPNs: completion of postgraduate studies in MH. Postgraduate studies in an appropriate related course (desirable). Postgraduate mental health experience minimum 7 yrs for OT/SW, 5 yrs for RPN. Current registration with AHPRA, with no current undertakings. Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain. Drivers licence.
