Part Time 0.6 FTE (22.8 hrs per week days TBC)Ongoing RoleBased at the Bairnsdale or Morwell Campus (Travel to either campus may be required dependent on department needs)Job Reference No. 2628 About the role Located at our Bairnsdale or Morwell Campus, we have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Conservation & Ecosystem Management (CEM) expert to join our CEM teaching team in a part time capacity to deliver Certificate II and III in Conservation & Ecosystem Management courses to TAFE Gippsland students and secondary school students participating in the VET Delivered to Secondary Schools (VDSS) program. Responsibilities As a teacher, you will deliver high-quality classroom-based training and assessment, whilst conducting practical skills training in simulated workplace environments. You will create inventive learning resources and assessment materials and undertake educational administration. You will support and guide students and supply them with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a successful career in Conservation & Ecosystem Management. A six-month probationary period applies to the role. About you You possess the necessary industry experience and skills to effectively mentor and train students to the high standard required, in order for them to meet the demands of industry. You are enthusiastic and motivated with a confident and proactive approach to education. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy working with others. You have sound ICT skills, a knowledge of training packages and an understanding of compliance and quality requirements. Support will be provided to the successful applicant upon commencement of employment, including financial sponsorship to complete the qualification, a paid workday per week to attend any classroom-based TAFE Gippsland course and the provision of a mentor to assist your transition from Industry to Teaching.
