Solicitor 2-3 years PQE - Multiple roles Are you a legal practitioner with 23+ years PQE seeking meaningful, challenging and rewarding work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Womens Legal Service South Australia (WLSSA) is currently recruiting three solicitors to join our growing team. Opportunities are available in our Adelaide office, the Port Augusta Office and Mount Gambier office. We are also open to expressions of interest from practitioners seeking temporary, interim or fixed-term contract roles. About Us WLSSA is a state-wide Community Legal Centre providing legal advice, representation and advocacy to vulnerable women across South Australia. Our work spans: Family Law Child Protection Immigration Civil and Debt Intervention Orders Minor Criminal Law Victims of Crime Beyond individual casework, WLSSA is a respected voice in law reform and legislative advocacy, regularly contributing to submissions, policy discussions and government consultation processes. Our solicitors have opportunities to actively participate in shaping systemic change affecting women. We also deliver community legal education to stakeholders, community groups and the profession. We promote a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Solicitors assist the broader legal and support services team as required. The Role Working closely with the Senior Lawyer and Director of Legal Services, the successful candidates will: Provide legal information and advice to women Undertake casework and representation across relevant practice areas Represent clients in court, mediation and tribunals Manage moderate to high file loads with competing priorities Contribute to community legal education initiatives Participate in law reform, policy submissions and systemic advocacy Travel to rural, regional and remote South Australian locations (and occasionally interstate) Attend training, conferences and strategic planning sessions Family Law experience is highly desirable Some out-of-hours work may be required. Selection Criteria Applicants must address each of the following criteria in their cover letter using the headings below: A tertiary legal qualification and ability to obtain an unrestricted practising certificate, with 2+ years post-admission experience in relevant practice areas High-level written and oral advocacy skills, particularly when working with clients experiencing trauma and high stress Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential client files accurately and efficiently Advocacy, and experience with alternative dispute resolution processes Capacity to manage moderate to high file loads and competing obligations Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills Understanding of traumainformed practice and multidisciplinary service delivery, particularly in domestic and family violence contexts Experience working with vulnerable women, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, CALD women and women living with disability Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team culture Experience contributing to policy and law reform activities (or willingness to develop in this area) A current Australian drivers licence and willingness to travel Join Us If you are committed to achieving justice for women and want to use your legal skills to create meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.
