Future Seekers and Passport to Success FacilitatorA casual facilitator is needed to facilitate primary and secondary school programs in Term 2Make a genuine difference to the lives of some of Australias most disadvantaged children and their familiesCasual position located in Darwin and Palmerston, NTThe Smith Family is a national childrens education charity that works with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty so they can thrive now and into their futures.About the roleThe casual facilitator will facilitate whole class cohorts, so everyone gets the benefit of these extra-curriculum programs. Programs run intermittently, as required by the participating schools. It would suit someone with at least two available days per week. Scheduling can fit around your other part time/casual work/study commitments. Training and resources are supplied.The successful candidates may consider delivering one or more of the following programs, depending on their skills and experience and also the local participating schools needs:One hour a week for 6 weeks to assist Year 6 students transition to secondary school (Passport to Success)Increasing Years 4-6 and/or junior secondary students knowledge of the world of work, and how these relate to their own interests and strengths in 5-7 one-hour sessions (Future Seekers)About youIt takes a special kind of person to work as a casual facilitator in our programs. The successful candidate will have:Demonstrated qualifications and/or experience in the delivery of training programs or classroom-based learningA current drivers license, access to a reliable and insured vehicle and a willingness to travel up to one hour each way to deliver the program sessionsExcellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with people from various backgroundsHighly developed organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage your time effectivelyCommitment to The Smith Familys Facilitator Quality Standards, informed by existing frameworks including the Australian Professional Standards for TeachersThe Smith Family has employees at the centre of its values and operations.
