Job Title: Assistant General Counsel, Singapore About the Client Our client is a privately held, globally active business group headquartered in Asia, consisting of both operating companies and an established investment arm with a decadeslong track record in public and private markets. Role Overview The Assistant General Counsel provides seniorlevel legal leadership across the organisation, offering strategic advice, managing legal risk, and ensuring strong governance. The role oversees key legal matters, supports major transactions, and helps shape business decisions through sound legal judgement. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all legal activities and act as the organisations primary legal advisor. Support and guide corporate transactions, including structuring, negotiating, and completing deals. Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements and legal documents. Oversee governance, regulatory obligations, and compliance across corporate entities. Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise on their impact. Provide legal support on operational matters such as employment, commercial issues, and disputes. Manage external counsel and ensure effective legal representation. Contribute to internal policy development and riskmitigation initiatives. Advise senior leadership and influence decisions with strategic legal insight. Candidate Profile Extensive legal experience (typically 15+ years) with strong grounding in corporate, transactional, and investmentrelated work. Skilled in navigating complex deals and diverse legal issues. Strong negotiator with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions. Strategic thinker with strong judgement, communication skills, and commercial awareness. Resilient, adaptable, and able to operate effectively in dynamic environments.
