This is your chance to shape the city''s growth by blending innovation, regulatory compliance and community priorities within a collaborative environment that values your leadership and expertise.Why Join Us?Make a lasting impact: Lead development projects that directly enhance the quality of life for the local community.Work with purpose: Collaborate in a team that drives innovative, sustainable development for the community.Grow your career: Take on a leadership role with variety, challenge, and the chance to shape the future of one of Sydney''s most vibrant council areas.About the RoleAs the Development Delivery Team Leader, you will:Lead and mentor a diverse team of development specialists to deliver highquality outcomes across the Willoughby LGA, including development control engineers, a traffic officer, landscape architect, arborist, and waste specialist.Provide technical expertise on referrals related to waste management, stormwater, traffic and parking, landscape architecture, and arboriculture.Manage construction permits and approvals throughout the project lifecycle, supporting efficient and compliant project delivery.Communicate technical information clearly, negotiate with developers and contractors, and resolve conflicts effectively.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate policy approaches and resolve complex development challenges.Represent Council in legal proceedings as an expert witness, contributing to sound planning decisions and upholding regulatory integrity.Enhance the Development Assessment Referral process by driving best practices and ensuring quality service delivery.What You''ll BringA degree or qualification in Town Planning, Urban Design, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field, along with solid experience in development or infrastructure projects.Handson experience managing complex or largescale development applications, especially in busy urban or CBD environments.A good understanding of current Australian design standards and how they apply to development projects.Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, support and motivate a diverse team of professionals.Excellent organisational and timemanagement skills to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.Confidence using systems to manage records and data accurately and efficiently.Experience with Technology One or other cloudbased enterprise systems.How to applyVisit to apply or learn more including all about the range of benefits on offer at Willoughby.For more information, contact: Caitlin McNally, Acting Manager - Development Assessment at [email protected] or +61 2 9777 7625.
