Our focus is on running matters properly and achieving outcomes that make commercial sense. The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Associate (5+ PAE) to join our Brisbane office. This role is suited to a lawyer who wants: better quality work greater autonomy direct client access and the ability to actually run matters and influence outcomes You will work closely with the principal and be trusted to take ownership of files. What makes this role different This is not a layered or heavily supervised environment. You will: have real responsibility for matters (not just discrete tasks) deal directly with clients, counsel, and experts contribute to and lead case strategy develop your advocacy and court experience work on complex disputes , not high-volume files If you are currently in a larger firm, this is an opportunity to move into a role with more control, visibility, and impact. The work You will work across a range of commercial disputes, including: director and shareholder disputes insolvency and restructuring-related litigation commercial and contractual disputes urgent interlocutory applications mediations, negotiations, and settlements You will see matters through from commencement to resolution. Your role You will: run and support commercial litigation matters end-to-end develop case strategy and provide clear, commercial advice draft and settle pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and correspondence brief counsel and liaise with experts, insolvency practitioners, and opposing solicitors appear in court and attend mediations and settlement conferences negotiates outcomes and assist with settlement documentation About you You will ideally have: 5+ years PAE in commercial litigation strong experience in commercial disputes and/or insolvency excellent drafting skills and sound forensic judgment confidence managing matters and dealing directly with clients experience negotiating settlements and resolving disputes pragmatically admission in Queensland with a current practising certificate Highly regarded: experience in a boutique or specialist disputes firm advocacy experience and confidence appearing in court a strong interest in director/shareholder disputes What we offer $160,000 $210,000 + super (depending on experience) high-quality, complex litigation work direct access to clients and decision-making real autonomy and responsibility a specialist disputes practice with minimal bureaucracy flexibility available after onboarding a professional, commercially focused working environment Who this role suits This role is particularly suited to a lawyer who: feels underutilised or over-managed in their current role wants to run matters and make decisions prefers quality work over volume is interested in building a longterm career in commercial disputes Apply To apply, please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining: your commercial litigation experience the types of matters you have run or supported why this opportunity is of interest Alternatively, you can reach out for a confidential discussion. #J-18808-Ljbffr
