Job Description

Profectus is seeking experienced Enterprise Architects to support the delivery of complex digital transformation and ICT capability uplift initiatives across the Australian Government. These opportunities are part of an Expression of Interest for upcoming and future engagements across multiple government agencies. Roles will suit architects who are comfortable operating in large, complex, and highly regulated environments where strategic alignment, governance, and delivery assurance are critical. You will contribute to shaping enterprise-wide technology direction, defining future state architectures, and guiding delivery programs that enable improved service outcomes, operational efficiency, and secure digital capability across government. This is an opportunity to work on nationally significant programs, partnering with multidisciplinary teams in structured environments that require strong stakeholder engagement, adaptability, and strategic thinking. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, models, and roadmaps aligned to organisational strategy Define current and future state architectures across business, application, data, and technology domains Translate business needs and service design outcomes into scalable, secure, and sustainable technology solutions Provide architectural guidance and assurance across programs, ensuring alignment with governance, standards, and policies Collaborate with delivery teams to define solution concepts, epics, and features supporting Agile delivery Engage with architecture boards, governance forums, and senior stakeholders to gain endorsement of proposed approaches Support technology investment planning, capability development, and digital transformation initiatives Contribute to procurement activities, technical evaluations, and solution assessments Produce high-quality architectural artefacts, documentation, and executive-level materials Foster strong stakeholder relationships and provide strategic advice across technical and non-technical audiences Required Experience Demonstrated experience as an Enterprise Architect (or similar role) within complex ICT environments Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and structured delivery approaches Experience shaping and delivering architecture across large-scale transformation or modernisation programs Proven ability to align technology strategy with business objectives and operational constraints Experience working within Agile delivery environments and managing competing priorities Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills, including working with senior executives Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and governance processes Ability to develop architectural artefacts including roadmaps, models, and solution designs Experience working within Australian Government or similarly regulated environments Exposure to cloud and hybrid architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience across data, integration, and digital service delivery ecosystems Familiarity with cyber security frameworks (e.g. ISM, Essential Eight, PSPF) Experience contributing to business cases, investment planning, and capability uplift initiatives Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, SAFe, or cloud platform certifications Security Requirements (Critical) Must be an Australian Citizen Ability to obtain a Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance is essential Current NV1 (or higher) clearance is highly preferred Working Arrangements Canberra-based roles are most common Hybrid working arrangements are typical, however some engagements may require onsite attendance in secure environments Occasional travel may be required depending on the program Why Profectus Profectus partners with Australian Government agencies to deliver trusted, high-quality capability across complex and mission-critical environments.
