Job Description Your New Role Development Victoria is delivering the transformation of the Melbourne Arts Precinct (MAPT), Australias largest cultural infrastructure project, on behalf of the Victorian Government, in partnership with MAP Co, Arts Centre Melbourne, National Gallery of Victoria and Creative Victoria. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Civic Infrastructure, you will guide established teams of highly skilled professionals in the strategic management, delivery and project oversight of complex, largescale construction, infrastructure and property development projects. You will build and maintain strong relationships across government and the private sector, drawing on exceptional stakeholder engagement and client liaison skills. As a key member of both the Civic Infrastructure and broader Development Victoria Senior Leadership Teams, you will bring deep project leadership expertise, strong knowledge of procurement and project management methodologies, and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and contractors to achieve highquality project outcomes. Core Accountabilities Represent Development Victoria as a leader in delivering complex civic infrastructure, strengthening relationships across government and industry. Provide expert policy, strategic and project advice to senior executives, Ministers and partner organisations. Oversee multidisciplinary project teams to ensure highprofile project are delivered to scope, quality, budget and time requirements. Manage multiple major contractor engagements, overall team and stakeholder performance to drive strong project outcomes. Lead teams through organisational change with clarity, confidence and alignment. Anticipate and manage project risks and critical issues to maintain momentum and protect project objectives. Work collaboratively with senior leaders, government partners, contractors and stakeholders to deliver outcomes that meet government priorities. Contribute to Civic Infrastructure and organisational wide leadership, helping shape strategy, budgets, policy and culture initiatives across Development Victoria. Prepare highquality Board and Investment Committee papers to support informed decisionmaking. Build capability across the Civic Infrastructure team by identifying development needs, coordinating training opportunities and supporting succession planning. Lead, coach and develop direct reports through regular performance feedback and clear development planning. About You Desired Skills and Experience You will bring experience delivering complex projects, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications in project management or a related field. You have a strong track record managing diverse and complex stakeholder relationships, including engagement with senior executives, government agencies and Ministers. You are an experienced people leader who builds highperforming teams who fosters a positive, collaborative culture. Demonstrated exceptional communication, negotiation and advisory skills, with extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams through all project phases. You understand government environments, policies and processes, including procurement, contract management, probity and records management. You offer strong commercial, financial, risk and contract management capability, with the ability to provide clear, strategic advice at senior levels across both public and private sectors.
