We embrace unique perspectives and empower each person to grow through professional development, career training and mentoring programs.Our people are our most important asset, and we are very proud of the quality of our team members.Job Summary The Senior Compliance Officer or AVP, Compliance Officer will assist with providing compliance advice and services to support Allied World Australia wholesale and retail general insurance business activities for compliance with APRA, ASIC and other applicable regulatory and industry requirements.Job DutiesDevelop and execute an annual local compliance plan and provide relevant regulatory and compliance policy updates and advice to management and colleaguesCarry out compliance reviews and trainings, and ensure appropriate controls and mechanisms are in place to manage compliance requirementsServe in any designated local compliance officer-related roles, as needed and assignedCommunicate with and assist in managing relationships with APRA, ASIC and other relevant authorities and trade associationsMaintain knowledge of the Australia branch''s current business activities, and maintain awareness of laws and regulations to ensure compliance and update the business, as neededManage relationships with other legal, risk, compliance and company colleagues to contribute to and implement Group initiatives, share best practices and enable effective communication and understanding of global/regional legal, risk and compliance issuesAssist with compliance for Allied World''s other Asia Pacific branches, as neededManage special projects as assignedQualificationsMinimum six years of compliance experience in the financial services sectorExperience with insurance and reinsurance (particularly P&C and A&H business), data protection, sanctions, anti-money laundering, and anti-bribery and corruption matters within Australia and Asia PacificExperience dealing with APRA and ASIC and other regulators in Asia PacificKnowledge of Australia laws and regulations and other Asia Pacific jurisdictionsExcellent problem solving and troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication (written and verbal), as well as strong interpersonal skillsAbility to consider local, regional and Group business considerations when providing compliance adviceCapable of working independently as well as in a team environmentWorking at Allied World Our team of over 1,500 professionals has deep expertise in the industry.
