Volunteer firefighters are trained and equipped to carry out a range of activities, including:Emergency response to bush and scrub firesUndertaking local fire prevention activities with the communitySupporting other emergency service agencies as requiredCommunity education and engagementVolunteering is an opportunity to become an integral part of our fun, hardworking team and offers many benefits such as:Ongoing training with experienced trainersSupport, guidance and mentoring from experienced brigade membersAccess to DFES Wellness Branch (critical incident follow-up, Peer Support Officers, counselling, and chaplain services)Learning new skillsMeeting new people and enjoying the company of like-minded team membersApplying your skills and knowledge in a challenging environmentContributing to the safety of our local community Category Emergency Response Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Type Of Work Safety & Emergency Services Time Required 1 - 2 training session per month during the season. Occasional weekend training exercises throughout the year when available. Attend emergency callouts when available. Training All training and personal protective clothing & equipment is provided.
