Would you like to support an independent Commission advising government on justice reform? Join our secretariat team as a Senior Legal Officer and help us drive change in the justice system. The Senior Legal Officer undertakes comprehensive legal research and contributes to and may be required to lead public consultations, meetings and forums. About The Commission The Queensland Law Reform Commission (QLRC) is an independent statutory body established under the Law Reform Commission Act 1968. The QLRC aims to meet the needs of the Queensland community by reviewing areas of law in need of reform and making law reform recommendations. These recommendations are based on extensive research and analysis, public consultation, and the principles of impartiality, equity and social justice. QLRC reviews have included a range of technical legal, social justice and justicerelated topics, including voluntary assisted dying, civil surveillance and privacy, termination of pregnancy, trusts law and guardianship laws. The QLRC''s recommendations are published in its final reports, which are presented to the AttorneyGeneral for tabling in Parliament in accordance with the Act. The QLRC has a parttime Chair and Deputy Chair as well as five parttime members. The QLRC is supported by a departmental Secretariat comprising an Executive Director, one Director, legal officers of various seniority, business support officers and a communications officer. The QLRC is currently under a review of evidence law in Queensland. Each review is undertaken by a dedicated review team within the Secretariat. About The Role Demonstrated experience in undertaking complex legal research, and analysing the legal and social issues involved in a law reform review Demonstrated experience in developing effective solutions to complex legal and social problems Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills including the ability to conduct effective consultations on complex issues Demonstrated ability to plan and undertake significant projects and work independently Demonstrated experience in building productive working relationships.
