Position Details Full Time (12 months) Commencing February 2027 Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the role of Medical Oncology Fellow. This role has the key responsibility for coordinating the management of oncology patients eligible for or enrolled on clinical trials within the Oncology Unit of the Alfred Hospital. Responsibilities Coordinate management of oncology patients eligible for or enrolled in clinical trials Oversee trial patients, their treatments and protocolspecified reviews Assess potential patients for suitability and obtain consent in daily outpatient clinics Supervise junior medical staff as required Attend five outpatient clinics per week, including possible rural clinics Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and weekly unit meetings Contribute to the afterhours oncall roster, including weekends Engage in research projects during the placement Applications from two individuals for a job sharing of a single position will be considered if presented as a coordinated application. The placement will provide supervision, exposure and experience to enable the fellow to develop the skills, knowledge and credentials for transition into a medical oncology specialist training programme or into the immediate postFRACP phase of career development.
