We are growing fast and looking for a Level 2 Network Engineer with a genuine passion for security to join our team. This is a dual-discipline role. You will be handson deploying and managing client network infrastructure while also contributing to security analysis, threat monitoring, and SIEM operations. What Youll Be Doing Network Engineering & Deployment Design, deploy, and configure client network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless solutions Manage and troubleshoot Level 2 network issues across LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN environments for a multi-client portfolio Conduct site assessments, network audits, and capacity planning to support client onboarding and infrastructure upgrades Implement and maintain secure network architectures aligned to client requirements and Australian security frameworks Produce clear network documentation, as-built diagrams, and handover materials for clients and internal teams Support data centre connectivity and physical infrastructure tasks as required Security Analysis & SOC Contribution Monitor client environments through our SIEM platform analysing alerts, identifying anomalies, and escalating threats Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 security analysis triaging incidents, investigating alerts, and contributing to incident response activities Leverage SOAR automation and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate triage and improve detection accuracy Apply your network knowledge to trace attack paths, assess lateral movement, and support forensic investigations Contribute to the continuous improvement of detection rules, threat playbooks, and security monitoring coverage Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attacker techniques relevant to client environments Client Engagement Participate in client-facing meetings to provide technical updates on network deployments and security observations Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Support the senior team in advising clients on network security posture and improvement opportunities What Were Looking For Experience & Skills 2-4 years of experience in a network engineering or infrastructure role, ideally within an MSSP or managed services environment Solid handson experience with routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting Exposure to or genuine interest in security operations SIEM monitoring, incident triage, or threat analysis Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, and AI-driven security tooling prior handson experience is a strong advantage Understanding of network security principles firewall policy design, network segmentation, IDS/IPS, and secure configuration Familiarity with Australian cybersecurity frameworks: Essential Eight, ISM (Information Security Manual), NIST CSF, ISO 27001 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills you enjoy digging into a problem until you find the answer Good communication skills you can explain a technical issue clearly to a client without the jargon Certifications (Required or Actively Pursuing) CCNA or CCNP Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional Fortinet NSE 4 or NSE 5 network security highly regarded CompTIA Security+ and/or CompTIA Network+ Other relevant certifications such as CEH, CySA+, SC-200, or GCIA will also be viewed favourably.
