Epworth Geelong is seeking an enthusiastic Ward Clerk to join our General Surgical team in a permanent parttime role (32.5 hours per week), with flexibility in how these hours are worked. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Geelong surgical ward, which provides specialised care across a broad range of surgical services, including breast and endocrine, ENT, neurosurgery, plastics, vascular, hepatobiliary, colorectal, upper and lower GI, bariatric weightloss surgery, dental, and ophthalmology. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be an essential contributor to the smooth and efficient administrative operations of the ward. Working closely with both nursing and medical teams, you will provide friendly, professional support to patients, visitors, and colleagues, helping to foster a culture of compassion, teamwork, and excellence. Key Responsibilities Delivering timely and effective administrative support to the nursing team Assisting the Nurse Unit Manager with ward and team administration Managing and maintaining accurate medical records Overseeing admissions, transfers, and discharges within patient information systems Providing a warm, professional first point of contact for patients and visitors About You You are a customerfocused, proactive individual who thrives in a busy clinical environment and takes pride in contributing to highquality patient care. You will bring: Previous experience in medical administration (hospital experience preferred) Knowledge of medical terminology Experience with IPM and healthcare systems Familiarity with hospital management or patient information systems Strong IT skills and confidence navigating multiple platforms Excellent communication, organisation, and timemanagement skills This role is ideal for an experienced Ward Clerk or medical administrator who thrives in a fastpaced clinical environment and enjoys being at the heart of patientcentred care.
