Division Name: Transperth Train Operations Position No: 37241 Closing Date: 2026-03-23 5:00 PM Location: Perth Job Type: Fixed Term - Full Time About the Job About the role This key role provides specialised rollingstock engineering support across commissioning, design, modification and maintenance activities for the PTAs fleet and associated rail systems. You will troubleshoot technical issues, develop engineering solutions, contribute to standards and codes of practice, support testing and inspections, and collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure interfaces between rollingstock and infrastructure are well defined and effectively managed. You will also play an important part in branch performance by contributing to continuous improvement, safety culture, and technical excellence. The role supports project delivery, assists with contract management to ensure engineering requirements are met, and helps maintain strong operational practices through risk management, policy development and performance reporting, ultimately supporting reliable services for the PTA. About You! To excel in this role, you should possess: - Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent) with Engineering Australia recognition, supported by proven rollingstock or heavy mobile equipment engineering experience and strong technical problemsolving skills. - Proficient in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD, with solid MS Office skills and the ability to apply engineering methods to resolve complex issues. - Demonstrated ability to lead and support teams, work independently, communicate effectively, build stakeholder relationships, and produce clear, wellstructured technical reports. - Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet targets and deadlines, supported by sound analytical skills, teamwork, and a commitment to personal development and safety leadership.
