Renewables / Energy Transition RecruiterThe Company:We are working with a global energy technology provider delivering large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Australia. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced a BESS Site Manager to lead on-site installation, commissioning, and integration activities for utility-scale energy storage assets. This is a hands-on role with full responsibility for site delivery, safety, quality, and coordination of electrical commissioning works.The RoleYou will be responsible for overseeing on-site electrical installation and commissioning activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with technical and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilities include:Supervising and coordinating electrical commissioning teams on siteManaging installation and integration of BESS units, including PCS and associated electrical systemsEnsuring compliance with WHSE requirements, electrical standards, and site policiesManaging electrical subcontractors and internal commissioning engineersTroubleshooting electrical and commissioning issues to minimise downtimeLeading daily site activities, toolbox talks, and contractor coordinationAttending principal contractor meetings and cascading information to site teamsDaily reporting of site progress, risks, and issues to project managementTracking project schedules and supporting on-time deliveryCoordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities during commissioningEnsuring asset quality, reliability, and operational readinessAbout YouElectrical trade qualification or degree in Electrical EngineeringProven experience supervising electrical works, ideally within renewables or BESS projectsStrong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and commissioning processesConfident managing subcontractors, site teams, and multiple stakeholdersStrong organisational, reporting, and leadership capabilityClear focus on safety, quality, and delivery outcomesHighly RegardedUtility-scale BESS commissioning experience, including exposure to BMS, PCS, and EMS/SCADAExperience commissioning or working alongside tier-one BESS OEM technologiesSouth Australian A-Grade Electrical LicenseExposure to fire suppression systems, HVAC, and protection relaysCandidates without direct BESS experience are encouraged to apply, provided they come with utility-scale renewable energy experience.
