This is a full-time onsite role for a Senior Accountant in a Public Practice Accounting firm based in Frankston, VIC. An attractive salary package is on offer to the successful applicant. The role will report directly to the Senior Client Manager as indicated below.ROLE PURPOSETo:Produce client work accurately and efficiently both independently (own work) and with the use of a team.Mentor, develop and train the team.Help/oversee the team meet their productivity and efficiency targets.Work/plan with the Senior Client Manager to ensure smooth workflow and throughput is maintained.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProduction of client workYour major role will be to support your Senior Manager in getting work completed.Your role is to review your teams (direct reports) work and ensure it is prepared to the standard required to enable the Senior Client Manager to present to the client.In addition to reviewing the work of direct reports you will be expected to independently prepare annual financial statements, income tax returns and the like.Manage and develop team membersYou will be required to help less experienced team members in completing their tasks and jobs.You will be responsible for ensuring there is enough work readily available to enable the team to meet their productivity KPI''s and budget targets.A key component of this role involves training and reviewing the work of your direct reports.This will involve training and developing the technical skills of your direct reports, helping and teaching them with all aspects of financial statement preparation, tax return preparation and bookkeeping.Your team will include graduate to intermediate accountants.Liaise with clientsCommunication with clients in a professional manner is required. This can be via meetings, phone calls and emails including but not limited to:Liaising with clients to resolve file queriesHandling ad hoc client questions E.g. Bookkeeping software questions and troubleshootingStrategic tax planningClient management responsibilitiesKEY SELECTION CRITERIA3+ years of experience managing staffAn ability to liaise, meet and manage clients as requiredDemonstrated high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate and engage different stakeholdersA high level of organisation skills with proven ability to set self and team priorities and manage workloads to meet deadlinesHave an ability to multi-task and plan aheadHigh level of analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skillsSelf-starter, energetic, friendly and enthusiasticStrong work ethic, prepared to roll up your sleeves when neededAn interest in technology is favouredFollows through as promised and takes pride in their workFriendly, approachable and willing to contribute to the firms culture #J-18808-Ljbffr
